Homeless Pets, Owners Get Boost from ±¬ÁÏÍøStudents December 5
Story by Mark Evertz
Who: ±¬ÁÏÍøVeterinary Technology students and instructors
What: Students and instructors from the Rock Creek Campus Veterinary Technology program will bring their knowledge and love of animals to the street when they administer free animal vaccines and provide free food for homeless animals and their masters at the second annual Vet Tech Club Friends Helping Friends program. As many as 20 ±¬ÁÏÍøveterinary students will be helping Phil Cochrane and Bruce Hopman, licensed vets affiliated with ±¬ÁÏÍø, to vaccinate the dogs and cats who rarely get the medical care they need.
When and Where: The program is slated for Saturday, Dec. 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Blanchet House soup kitchen at 4 N.W. Glisan St.
Why: "This keeps our students involved, aware, growing and educated," said ±¬ÁÏÍøProgram Veterinary Technician Dolores Galindo. "It is also another way of promoting vet techs, where they are and what they do. And it gives them the opportunity to work in the community.
