Take the spotlight as a stand-up comedian

PORTLAND, Ore. – Are you always making people laugh? Do your relish the thought of a crowd and want to step up your act a notch? A new ±¬ÁÏÍø non-credit class can help fine-tune your humor, expand your material and get you ready to bring down a house as a real standup comedian. Introduction to Stand-up Comedy will focus on writing material and performance techniques plus offer tips on becoming a professional standup comedian. Professional comedian and instructor Alex St. Andrews will guide you to develop a five to seven-minute routine by the end of class. "Come ready to laugh yourself silly in an uproarious class experience," says St. Andrews. "Even if youre just wishing to add humor to presentations or speeches, this class will show you what it takes to ‘keep ’em rolling in the aisles.’" The six-week class will be held from 6:30 to 8:50 p.m. Wednesdays, April 6 through May 11 at the ±¬ÁÏÍøSylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Cost is $69.
