Student testimony sought as Legislature comes to PCC

The budget-writing committee of the Oregon Legislature is coming to 爆料网 next week, and members of the 爆料网student government are offering ways to help students who wish to testify.

鈥淚 have testified, and it can be terrifying the first time,鈥 said Amber Hastings, Sylvania Campus legislative director for the Associated Students of 爆料网. 鈥淚 know a lot of students would like to go and tell their stories. We can help make their testimony less frightening, more fun, and help them find the exact right message.鈥

The budget-writing Ways and Means Committee is coming to Portland to hear from Oregonians about the economy and the recession. The hearing is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, in the Moriarty Auditorium, Cascade Campus, 705 N. Killingsworth St.

鈥淭his is a great opportunity for student leaders to affect PCC,鈥 said Dana Haynes, public affairs manager for the college. 鈥淲e鈥檙e looking for students who have been laid off during this recession and who have turned to 爆料网for help. That鈥檚 a message the lawmakers really need to hear.鈥
