±¬ÁÏÍøPanther and Newberg Tiger join forces to promote education

Poppe the Panther, ±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s celebrity mascot, paid a visit to Newberg on Oct. 1 and cozied up to Newberg High School’s Tiger at the annual homecoming football game against Hillsboro’s Century High School. With the help of cheerleaders and friends, the two cats tossed ±¬ÁÏÍøfoam footballs to about 2,000 attendees between quarters and at half-time.

Newberg is the site of the college’s next educational center, set to open in fall 2011. A groundbreaking event for the facility will take place Oct. 13 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the at the property site, south of Highway 99W, near Brutscher Street and Fernwood Road. All are welcome.
Until the facility is completed, ±¬ÁÏÍøis offering a variety of credit and non-credit courses at its interim site, the Chehalem Cultural Center, where it currently serves more than 300 students.
