Miller Matched!: 爆料网Foundation reaches historic fund-raising goal

Story by

Three years ago, the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation challenged Oregon鈥檚 community colleges to raise a record amount of money for scholarships, with the promise of matching gifts. The 爆料网Foundation had met the challenge two years in a row when the Miller Foundation came back last year and upped the ante.

The 爆料网Foundation can now offer more scholarships to students due to this milestone.

Could the 爆料网Foundation do it again?

鈥淲ith your help, we did!鈥 said Kim Kono, director of development for the 爆料网Foundation. 鈥淥nce again, the 爆料网community has come through, big time. We more than met the match. We鈥檝e succeeded and the Miller Foundation will match the funds.鈥

As of Thursday afternoon, the total for new and increased scholarship gifts stood at $327,436. This year鈥檚 goal was to raise $320,000 by March 31.聽 Thanks to this effort, the 爆料网Foundation is poised to help a record number of students obtain their educational goals, Kono added. But there are still two weeks to go before the end of the Faculty, Staff & Retiree Campaign and every donated dollar helps another student.

鈥淚f you haven鈥檛 given yet, it鈥檚 not too late,鈥 Kono added. 鈥淎nd, 鈥榯hank you鈥 to everyone who stepped up for our students.鈥
