More than 100 students, staff and faculty joined ±¬ÁÏÍøfor the college’s first-ever Day at the Capitol.

Join the ±¬ÁÏÍøcommunity – students, faculty, administrators and members of the college’s Board of Directors – as they travel to the state capitol in Salem and talk one-on-one with legislators to thank them for their support and reinforce the value of ±¬ÁÏÍøto the state. This is an opportunity to meet elected officials and share your perspective about the importance of funding higher education. You can make a difference by describing how ±¬ÁÏÍøoffers people the chance to earn a college education, obtain skills to land in-demand jobs, and achieve their dreams – as well as what ±¬ÁÏÍømeans to you personally.

In addition to meeting legislators, participants will get the chance to witness a floor session and visit ±¬ÁÏÍøinformation booths. This will be a fun, exciting day full of ±¬ÁÏÍøpride and spirit on behalf of our college, with lunch and transportation provided. The day starts early with a shuttle bus departing the Sylvania Campus for Salem at 8:30 a.m. It will return to Sylvania at approximately 4:30 p.m. Events in Salem will take place from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you are staff or oversee a department and can’t go, encourage others or release some staff to attend instead.
