Cascade Campus hosts panel as part of Reengagement Plus Convening

PCC, Portland Public Schools, and Worksystems Inc. co-hosted the fourth annual Reengagement Plus Convening at the ±¬ÁÏÍøCascade Campus and Lloyd Center Double Tree, Dec. 10-11. The event is a major national gathering of 250 leaders, supporters and staff representing 40-plus school districts from around the country. The conference – which was sponsored by Gateway to College National Network, National League of Cities, Aspen Opportunity Youth Incentive Fund, and Youth Transition Funders Group – showcased the alternative programs that connect students to a high school diploma or GED.
On Thursday, Dec. 11, Cascade Campus hosted a panel discussion on those alternative programs with PPS Superintendent Carole Smith, Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown, ±¬ÁÏÍøPresident Jeremy Brown and City of Portland Mayor Charlie Hales. ±¬ÁÏÍøreengages low-income and disconnected youth through the ±¬ÁÏÍøLinks Programs, Career Pathways, Adult Basic Education/GED testing, and workforce training.
